A set of pictures featuring the E90 BMW M3 Sedan that made their appearance today on a German forum called “Auto-Treff†gave stirred an online debate whether they’re official material or simply the work of a talented photoshop artist. While the two pictures comparing the M3 Sedan with its Coupe sibling are way too small for us to make any safe assumptions, there is a possibility that the above image could be real.-Continued after the jumpIn any case, the M3 Sedan which will be equipped with the same 420 Hp 4.0-liter V8 engine as the M3 Coupe could make its debut as early as the Tokyo Show in late October. Don’t forget; BMW has announced that it will show off two worldwide premieres in Tokyo with the first being probably be the 1-Series Convertible (click here).

Things aren’t looking so bright at Chrysler as the third largest U.S. automaker announced it will halt production for two weeks in two more plants following its fourth straight monthly decline in sales this September. According to Chrysler LLC spokesperson, David Elshoff, in addition to next week’s 14-day closure of the Belvidere plant in Illinois that makes the Dodge Caliber and the Jeep Patriot and Compass, the company will also idle production in the Toledo, Ohio, North Assembly and Newark, Delaware, factories starting on October 8. The Toledo North factory makes the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro, while the Newark factory produces the Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen.5

I know this is swinging at low hanging fruit, but Toyota has released pictures and specs of its next generation Land Cruiser, and it's just a complete box of trash. Actually, scratch that. The wood trim inside looks nice. But beyond that, this is one of the ugliest cars in recent memory (aside from the new Toyota Highlander, which shares a similar repulsiveness). Yes, there can be no doubt that it will be very capable off-road, but it's going to be marketed to suburban buyers in the U.S. And what a pathetic proposition it is. It doesn't look the part of lifestyle vehicle, like the FJ Cruiser, Wrangler, H3, or Xterra. Rather, it's got some kind of space-ugly sheetmetal, and the interior will surely be loaded up with crap like leather and wood floormats or TV screens that fold down from the rear bumper to distract the people you're backing over. And I won't even get started on the gas mileage that is going to suck. So, it's ugly, won't be used off road, will be slow and sloppy on road, and seats no more people than a minivan, and it'll surely cost over $50,000. When the low-hanging fruit is this low and rotten… [NB: Mr. Berkowitz reserves the right to confirm/change his opinion in a future test drive.]
