The weekend of the 21st will be special for Texans not only because it’s the last time to visit the State Fair, one of the area’s premiere events, but also because the 20th and the 21st of this month will be the only chance local residents and visitors will have to visit the Forth Worth Alliance Air Show.
A list of performers appearing at the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show reveals that this year’s show better than ever. Among performers for the 2-day show on October 21 and 21st are The Navy Blue Angels, the Red Baron Squadron, the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, and Team Oracle.  Airplane fans can expect a non-stop line up of high-flying fun.
Even those who are less than enthusiastic about planes and the breathtaking manoeuvres performed by the skilled pilots, however, will still find something to interest them. The Air Force Reserve Jet Car is sure to delight those who look for speed and performance. Able to go from zero to 400 MPH in eight seconds, the jet car always elicits oohs and ahhs from those who appreciate for rapid transit.
This year, the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show will include an exciting NASA exhibit. Visitors can find out more NASA’s current crop of spacecraft and view models of proposed spacecraft of the future. Children can get their photos taken in a spacesuit, and NASA pilot Frank Betteas will be signing autographs and answering questions. Bring a digital camera to pose with an amazing array of aircraft that will be on static display. If you’re coming to your first air show, the official site has some excellent tips: arrive early for best seating (premium seating is available for $10 for the first 1500 guests on both days); bring hearing protection, sunscreen, and wear comfortable shoes. The festivities will kick off at 10:30 am on Saturday and Sunday, with the gates opening at 9 am. Events on both days will last until 4 pm. Although admission to the event is free, parking for the day costs $15.
