Suzuki will unveil at the New Delhi Auto Show on January 9,2008 the A-Star concept that previews a new global Mini. The production version will follow at the Geneva Motor Show and is believed to be the Suzuki Alto.

The production version will first come on the Indian market and then will be brought to the European one.

The A-Star Concept is the first step of the second stage of Suzuki’s family car models.

007 and the DBS will reprise their roles in the newest James Bond movie, due out next November. But, of course, “M” will have been required to come up with a new one, after Mr. Bond destroyed the last DBS in “Casino Royale.”

Aston-Martin’s chief executive officer, Ulrich Bez, had this to say: “"Aston Martin is proud of its long association with James Bond. The DBS has its own unique character which equals that of James Bond. 
It is explosive power in a black tie... and we are all very excited at the prospect of seeing it on the big screen again."
 
The Bond movie is yet untitled, so the preproduction publicity machine is, for now, muted.
 
Last year, there had been rumors that Bond might be in a Bentley in this movie. Historians of the Bond literature will recall that Bond’s original ride was a rebodied Bentley which he had acquired as a personal car after the first owner had wrecked the vehicle. Bond went to the trouble of having a new body placed upon the old chassis and had a car that he very much enjoyed. It, however, met an untimely fate in the first of the Bond novels. After that, Bond apparently decided not to risk his own, and drove the government-issued Aston-Martin DB-5.
 
But, though the sun does not set on the British empire in the novels, it certainly did set on the British auto industry and more recent Bond movies have featured Bond in various BMW products. The DBS was the first British branded car driven by Bond in a movie in a decade.
 
“British,” of course, is now a relative term. Aston-Martin is largely controlled now by Mid-Eastern investment companies.

Ever since Ford sold Aston Martin earlier this year, there was speculation as to whether the marque would provide James Bond's company car again when the 22nd installment of the movie series hits theaters next November. Speculation over. Aston Martin announced today that its flagship DBS would return to play the hero car alongside Daniel Craig as 007 in the still-untitled film (Bond 22 is the working title). Since Ford still has one flick left on the three-picture deal it signed with the producers, we expect to see cars from the Oval populating the screen as well. In any case, we're glad that Bond's keeping his wheels. They suit him.

Aston Martin DBS to star in new James Bond film

Gaydon, December 11th 2007: Aston Martin announced today that their new flagship model, the DBS, will once again be driven by James Bond (DANIEL CRAIG) in the next 007 film to be produced by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for EON Productions, and directed by Marc Forster.

The Aston Martin DBS made its first public appearance in Casino Royale when it smashed its way into the Guinness World Record books for 'The Most Cannon Rolls In A Car'. The record-breaking stunt saw stuntman Adam Kirley taking the helm of Bond's famous Aston Martin. The stunt proved one of the most spectacular in movie history when he rolled the DBS an amazing seven times.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez, said: "Aston Martin is proud of our long association with James Bond. The DBS has its own unique character which equals that of James Bond. It is explosive power in a black tie. It is the perfect car for James Bond as it delivers the complete driving experience and bridges the gap between our road and track cars – the DB9 and DBR9. It is equally at home on a twisting mountain circuit as on the open road and we are all very excited at the prospect of seeing it on the big screen again."

BOND 22 (working title) is scheduled for international theatrical release in November 2008.
