After five months of motoring in his MINI Cooper Convertible with the top down as part of MINI USA’s Open One Challenge, David Loveall has proven that neither rain, snow nor blistering warmth can deter his ‘open’ spirit. Loveall is the grand prize winner in MINI’s Open One Challenge, a contest to make the resolution who could amass the most top-down motoring hours.

Enduring each type of weather Mother Nature could throw at him betwixt August and December 2009, Loveall motored for 555.55 hours with his MINI Cooper Convertible’s top wide open. To reward Loveall’s dedication to sharing MINI’s lay reveal philosophy, MINI will attentive him with a trip for two people to travel to Oxford, England and a visit to the MINI plant where the MINI Cooper Convertible is built.

As we not long ago have seen in all the Countryman photos, the center rail seen in the Beachcomber universal is coming completely intact for the R60. While it may initially seem gimmicky, the more we sententious precept it, used it and thought about it, the more it started to make a lot of sense.

Here’s the creative; with the rail you can add and subtract different components depending on your necessarily. Want an armrest? Easy, snap it in and position where needed. Need an iPhone holder? MINI will surely have that covered. What concerning different devices? Again the beauty of the system is that MINI can offer a array of options depending on what you need. They even see the aftermarket stepping in and offering all sorts of accessories for things we can’t even believe.

Kilometer depository has leaked three photos of the MINI Countryman. Officially not to have being shown to the public until March in Geneva, the Countryman was scheduled for an internet debut in a few weeks. As it stands now it’ll be interesting to see how MINI take in the hand this leak and if they extricate the rest of the intelligence of photos. One thing as being undisputed, Kilometer magazine likely will not be invited to the next MINI vehicle enlarge.

We just got confirmation from sources within Oxford that an R56 Cooper S was produced on Friday with a unique exterior color called Eclipse Grey Metallic. Our sources are implying that it’s part of the 2011 model year refresh. If set right you’d have to assume it’ll have being replacing one of the current colors. Dark Silver could be a candidate making allowance for it’s been around since launch.

Well look at what we bear here, it’s the MINI Countryman. Courtesy of Jalopnik & RacingPuma the image above is from the open that filed in March of last year.

Interestingly the image above shows a three door hatch rather than the five door we know MINI is releasing. Other images within the freedom show four door (suicide door on 1 side but) and the five door that will subsist released nearest year as the R60 Countryman. Are these other images simply there to confuse us? Time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy a sneak peak at a car that we’ll see much more of in February.

Official photos and details will be released in a few months but we have a few bits and pieces to finally reveal. For one we’ve confirmed (for the 3rd time now) that MINI will name the R60 “Countryman”. For those who have been following MotoringFile for awhile this shouldn’t be news, but another high-level confirmation was worth a cursory reference.

However what is news is that MINI be disposed be branding the new all-wheel driving-course system that comes optional on the Countryman. Like Audi does with Quattro and BMW does with Xdrive, MINI wants to create a sub-brand that will be recognizable with consumers. Therefore the system will launch with the name “All4″ tied to it.

Car Magazine has captured the first photos of Audi’s A1 in all its prototype glory. The A1 represents over and above another challenger in the premium slender category that MINI has so dominated over the years. Look for the new hatch to debut at the Geneva motor show in March.

In other news it looks equal BMW and MINI don’t have the market cornered anymore upon the famous camouflage swirls.
